Focus and Scope
The British Journal of Diabetes (BJD) is a peer reviewed journal published quarterly and available open-access online at www.bjd-abcd.com. The journal is the official journal of the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists and publishes original research, review articles position statements, editorials, discussion papers and case reports on all aspects of the diagnosis and management of diabetes and diabetes-related conditions.

Peer Review Process
Manuscripts may be rejected upon receipt by the editor if they do not fit the scope of the journal in which case the article will not enter the review process.
The review process involves double blind peer review by 2 or more reviewers. Up to 4 weeks are allowed for peer review. Reviewers are asked:-
If the abstract appropriately describes the manuscript?
Is the manuscript significantly new and/or interesting to warrant publication?
Is the methodology (if relevant) appropriate and sound?
Are the analayses correct/accurate?
Are the conclusions supported by the manuscript content?
Do you have any ethical concerns?
In the results, is the balance of text tables and figures right?
Is the number of references right/appropriate?
Are any revisions/corrections required
Should the manuscript be published with an accompanying editorial or commentary?
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Archiving
This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
